October 08, 2026

ISHR wishes to congratulate Shnayjaah Valentine Jeanty who has been selected to participate in the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center’s 2026-2027 John Lewis Young Leaders (JLYL) program. This program is “a year-long undergraduate fellowship that prepares college students for a future in community organizing and civic engagement.” Shnayjaah is among the 15 participants of the 2026-27 cohort.

Shnayjaah, who is a Creative Writing Major and a Human Rights concentrator said: “The Human Rights Department is why I'm a proud humanities major. Courses such as "Advocacy for Socio-Economic Rights" and "Power, Politics, and Procedure in Immigration Court" taught me to lift my advocacy off the page and into the world I care for, with hands-on experiences and access to renowned advocates.”
