ISHR Welcomes 2026 Human Rights Studies M.A. cohort

September 10, 2026

ISHR is pleased to welcome our 2026 Human Rights Studies M.A. cohort to campus. This year we are joined by 20 students from 11 countries. Our new students have a wide range of research concentrations, including artificial intelligence and digital rights, disability rights, reproductive justice, and refugee rights, among others.

On September 3, ISHR held an orientation for the incoming cohort. Faculty, staff, and returning students gathered to welcome the new scholars. Our faculty - Director Joseph Slaughter, Shourideh Molavi, Tim Wyman-McCarthy, Glenn Mitoma, and Jackie Dugard - joined a panel to discuss the importance of studying human rights during challenging times.

ISHR wishes our new cohort a successful academic year and looks forward to supporting their scholarly endeavors.

You can learn more about the Human Rights Studies M.A. program here. If you’re interested in joining next year’s cohort, the admissions application will be available here at the end of September.
