Avner Gvaryahu, Human Rights Studies M.A. ‘17, is the recipient of the 2025 New Israel Fund’s Human Rights Award, a recognition that highlights his courageous leadership and unwavering commitment to justice. 

Carly Sandstrom graduated from the Human Rights Studies M.A. (HRSMA) program in 2024. She shares her experience during her time as a student at Columbia.

Vanessa Fiuza shares her experience as a student in the Human Rights Studies M.A. Program and about the research she undertook while in Chile on a Field Research Grant. Vanessa was the first recipient of the Santiago Global Center’s Field Research Grant.
