In the immediate aftermath of the most recent snowstorm in NYC, the 2025–2026 cohort of the Human Rights Advocates Program (HRAP) traveled to Washington, D.C., for a dedicated networking visit with leading human rights partners and funders. Over the course of the trip, advocates met with representatives from Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center, National Endowment for Democracy, Humanity United, the the World Bank Inspection Panel, Vital Voices, Amnesty International-USA, the Alliance for Peacebuilding, Free the Slaves, and other institutions shaping global human rights practice.

The visit created a unique space for advocates to present their work, exchange strategic insights, and explore potential collaborations across regions and issue areas. In a moment when many human rights defenders face isolation and shrinking civic space, the trip underscored the importance of cross-border solidarity and sustained partnership. On behalf of her HRAP cohort, Tatsiana Ziniakova said that the advocates are deeply grateful to the Program for organizing this opportunity and to all participating organizations for their openness and engagement.
