Edward Said's Struggle to Publish Orientalism

This talk draws on archival research to discuss the publication history of Orientalism. Davis will connect Said's barriers to publication for this book to ongoing barriers to research in post-colonial theory. He will consider the question: Where does Orientalism fit on Said's longer trajectory from Conrad to humanism?
